Hello everyone, my name is María Díaz. I am from Málaga, and from a very young age I knew animals and dancing were my passions. Both have remained part of my life ever since. While studying Veterinary Medicine at the University of Córdoba, I took various courses and volunteered in different areas to explore the branches of this versatile profession.
After graduating, I decided to specialise in exotic animals and wildlife through the Complutense University of Madrid’s qualification, ‘Specialist in exotic and wild animals: handling, clinical care and captive breeding’. As well as my passion for these animals, I was motivated by the need for more vets in this field. The course gave me practical experience at centres in Madrid including Animales Exóticos 24 horas, Faunia and GREFA.
After finishing, I wanted to start working and was fortunate that ARACAVIA exotic animal clinic was looking for a vet. I am excited to begin this new experience alongside such professional colleagues, from whom I am sure I will learn a great deal. In my free time I enjoy yoga, dancing and sport in general, and I listen to music every day. Above all, I enjoy the company of my family and friends, who have supported me at every step.
