📢 News about species listed as invasive in Andalusia! 🐦
We are sharing this post to report that the Andalusian regional government has opened a route to regularise ownership of monk parakeets and other invasive species already kept as pets in our homes: 🐤🦎🐢🐷🐦
These include monk parakeets, Vietnamese pot-bellied pigs, ball pythons, savannah monitors and red-eared sliders, among others.
The animals must be individually identified, and owners must sign a declaration of responsibility confirming appropriate ownership and housing of invasive alien species specimens. This is to meet the requirements of Article 7 and the fourth transitional provision of Royal Decree 630/2013 of 2 August, regulating the Spanish Catalogue of Invasive Alien Species, and the amendments introduced by Royal Decree 216/2019 of 29 March.
